Heinzen University
MANY STUDENTS find themselves spending their summer break participating in one of our Undergraduate Professional Internship Programs where they explore career options and gain in-depth industry experience. Heinzen’s internship program functions by engaging STEM majors in the engineering, applied mathematics and accounting field with technical tasks and applications. Our interns alternate between key roles within the Heinzen community and are given ample opportunity to receive real-world exposure in the equipment-design and manufacturing world.
The ideal candidate must have completed at least one full year of their undergraduate program and be driven, ambitious and demonstrate a great interest to learn. Although it is not mandatory, applicants are encouraged to submit one letter of recommendation from an academic professional to help increase their likelihood of being chosen to fill one of our limited positions. Interns will work under the direct supervision of the Department Manager and will assist in various tasks ranging from new product development, design and troubleshooting through possible manufacturing concerns. The ability to perform basic calculations to assist in the design process is preferable.
The following skills are desired but not required:
• SolidWorks and AutoCAD proficiency
• Microsoft Office (With focus on Excel)
• Ability to learn new software and programs
• Ability to work in a group and team setting, in a high paced environment.
Prospective Interns must be enrolled full-time in an accredited four year university or junior college and have the ability to work 40 hours a week throughout the duration of their 8-12 week internship.
